My husband tried an irs site and they said to try back later because they claimed our phone number was too recent. We have those numbers for several years. Just wanted to make sure we didn't accidentally tap into a mirror site.

(33,643 posts)Although I haven't gotten the $ or anything, everything went smoothly.
There is no phone number request in the process. Not that I recall anyways
As mentioned elsewhere, don't put dashes in your SSN. And use the exact address that's on your tax form, right down to using ST instead of St. or Street, for example.
I e-filed my 2019 taxes on the 15th so I first put in my income and tax amount for 2019 ... and it appeared that those were the numbers it was expecting to see (dunno if the 2018 ones would've worked or not). So its pretty up-to-date.
Good luck
