Edit: Nevermind, my tax guy filed my state return last week, when he discovered I had a refund, he only filed the federal one on 4/15 cause I owe them money.

Apparently that was something I'd asked for in the past so he did the same this year.

MY BAD. Still came pretty dang fast, but not as fast as I thought.

2. E-filing is amazing.

I had my taxes done on March 23. My state refund hit my checking account on the 26th. The federal on the 31st. It simply doesn't take that long.

But damn ... I mean, 3 days to have it hit the checking account by direct deposit when filing 3 weeks before the deadline is one thing ... impressive, sure, but having a physical check in my mailbox in <48 hours, when I filed on 4/15 ... mindblowing.

4. I'm in California

and usually get my state refund within a week of filing. Feds were fast this year too.
