(18,881 posts)At least when liberals rally, we look like we're having fun. These people look like the walking dead, which might very well be the case in a few weeks.

(4,360 posts)Texas has fared ok.....less than 20k cases (although not much testing) but less than 500 deaths--17 per million. Very low. We are quite naturally social distanced anyway. Even big cities are spread out and no mass transit. Most Texas schools have been out since around the middle of March and many companies sent workers home March 17. Gyms, restaurants and bars have also been closed since then. We currently have a surplus of hospital beds, ICU beds and ventilators. Only things opening this week are curbside pickup and some no emergency procedures. Our schools are closed for the rest of the year. As far as testing, we compare with California.
I am not a fan of Gov. Hotwheels and I am thankful he doesn't really have a lot of power.

(35,514 posts)OK, it didn't look like a very big crowd and it was
pretty tame compared to MI.
Also, I see some future cv cases there. Hardly any
of them were protected.
Interesting.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
