New model: Some states could end social distancing in early May, others in the summer

https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/coronavirus/new-model-some-states-could-end-social-distancing-in-early-may-others-in-the-summer

"A University of Washington model that has guided the White House coronavirus task force on the reach of COVID-19 suggests that no state should end social distancing before the start of May.

UW’s IHME model says that Vermont, West Virginia, Montana, and Hawaii are among the states best positioned to end strict social distancing guidelines, with an estimated date of May 4. But the model suggests that Iowa, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Utah, Arkansas, and Oklahoma are among states that will need to wait well into June or even into July."

I don't know when my idiot governor will decide that it's all right to mingle, but I'll be doing my best to stay clear of others. I'm kind of high risk, so I really don't need Covid. I just think May is too early. It seems like we're still at the peak of these infections, and it can still get worse.

But I think we should be over the hump by June. That's if they don't the to bring everything back to normal on May first. If we have another outbreak that stresses our healthcare system, I think all bets are off.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) announced Thursday that the state economy will begin the process of reopening on May 1.

The governor said during his press briefing that the state government is planning its reopening on the date his stay-at-home order expires. DeWine told his residents to prepare for things “to be different” as masks and social distancing become the normal in workplaces.

“I am an optimist and am confident that Ohioans will also live up to the challenge of doing things differently as we open back up beginning on May 1st,” he tweeted.

Apparently, Georgia and Florida posted there lowest case and death counts in awhile in comparison to the day before.
Coincidence?
