Milford ordered 30,000 gowns to be used by firefighters and hospital workers, but they were taken by the federal government before they arrived.

MILFORD – The federal government intercepted a shipment of protective gowns ordered by Milford for the Fire Department and local hospital, according to Fire Chief William Touhey Jr.

"We recently ... made a purchase of a number of masks and gowns, and unfortunately the federal government got to our distributor prior to our order being shipped," Touhey told selectmen this week, "and, unfortunately, none of the items that we had ordered will be coming directly to us."

Touhey told the Daily News on Friday that the town ordered 30,000 gowns - a type of personal protective equipment, or PPE, meant to help protect first responders from contracting the novel coronavirus.

The Fire Department planned to keep some, but donate the majority of them to Milford Regional Medical Center.

"We were going to keep some of them, but (hospital workers) need them more than we need them," he said.

He was later informed that the town wouldn't be getting any of the 30,000 gowns, as the federal government had stepped in and taken them instead.

"We're very low on the food chain when you look at the big picture of the country," he said

Touhey is also waiting on the remainder of a shipment of masks – he got about 500 of a 2,500 order – but isn't sure what happened to those.

Florida is a huge key, if Trump can steal that again, plus holds WI, AZ, NC, (and holds either one or both of ME-2 & NE-2) he wins, even if he loses all the rest of the close states. If he wins only one of NE-2 or ME-2, then the true nightmare scenario kicks in, a 269-269 tie with the Rethugs holding (at worst) the bare minimum of 26 House delegations to put him over the top.)



He also could lose WI and AZ, hold NC and PA, (plus BOTH the 2 split districts) and still win, again in the nightmare 269-269 scenario.



The only 9 states that matter (unless we are talking about a Biden massive blue wave, which is possible) are:

FL (deffo the single most important prize)
NC (after FL, the most key hold for Rump, if he loses here, he might be looking at a blowout loss)
WI (the most likely of the big 3 rustbelt flips to stay with Rump)
PA (if we lose this again, it is a terrible lose)
AZ (a pure toss-up atm, slight lean to rump, but barely, thsi and FL are probably the 2 closest states atm)
MI (like Dem win)
NV (likely Dem win)
MN (likely Dem win)
NH (likely Dem win)

plus ME-2 and NE-2, which tilt Rump atm


VA and CO more likely Dem wins than any of the above 9, a loss there in either or both means we are 90% going to lose the election, and possibly badly.

That some red states have had their national guard meet incoming planes carrying PPE.
