We have to be well-prepared for the fact that Donald Trump will not leave, were he to lose an election, and he is already preparing his armed troops to be in the streets. Correct assessment should be based on experience and knowledge of his condition, not on wishful thinking.

There are numerous things we could be doing at this point to mitigate the situation, but we are not. This is because we still have a situation of the blind leading the blind.

As long as we fumble, all kinds of nefarious interests will find the situation fraught with opportunity, and this is what we are allowing. Soon, the profits of keeping a mentally impaired president will seem too lucrative to let go.

Could all of the armed forces, police, and other security be snookered, cowed, or beaten in order for him to stay?

The Secret Service that protects him now could just as well frog march him out as soon as Biden takes the oath.
