Per Capita?

I heard some the idiot's presser/rally yesterday and he said by per capita that deaths in US were lower than many other countries! WTF? One death is to many and having almost 40,000 deaths is insane. Here is that business mentality again! A few less means more than the many! "we keep our cost down, we'll be fine"! That is not the case here! We need to take care of all the people and save as many as we are capable of!

But... That's about to change. Rural areas are pinging all over the country.

All it means is, either the other countries did a WORSE job, or that the overall social infrastructure made the spread more difficult to contain.
It's a stupid point, because it doesn't absolve the maladministration from it's ignoring the issue early on.
Just because other countries' governments did a crappy job, there's no excusing the crappy job here.

Someone should have asked Birx if it was appropriate or accurate to use per Capita on 1 chart while using just total numbers of tests on another chart? Maybe we have caught up by now but a couple of weeks ago I read where there were 18 countries who tested more than the US using per Capita.

and we are rising on the list. We are sitting at 118/per million, more than 4 times what the rate was just 2 weeks ago.
