Since I was in my 30s, in fact. (I'm 70 now.) I got into that habit out of morbid curiosity to see how many people keeled over who were younger than I am. Even when I was in my 30s, it was surprising how many there were. It never has had anything to do with me being old. It might have to do with the fact that I worked for a newspaper for 45 years until I retired, though.

had outlived her enemies. I check every once in a while to see if I outlived some of my enemies. I have outlived a few of them so far. What was that quote attributed to Mark Twain about obituaries. That fits why I check them out sometimes.
