8. Fear, ignorance, and weak national leadership

Trump tells them what they want to hear. Sometimes he walks it back, but it doesn't matter to his true believers. They know when he's backing and filling that it's just to placate the deep state or some such nonsense. They know when he's talking directly to them, and they don't need to hear anymore.

So, when Trump says "Anyone who wants a test can get a test" like he did on March 6, it doesn't concern them in the least that there is no testing. They know in their black little hearts that testing would just be used against their hero when more infected persons were identified. I'm confident that before this is all over, there will be a story out that many of the dead are either faking it (that is, they weren't really Covid-19 victims) or were crisis actors who gladly died to make Trump look bad.

16. People make poor judgments every day

People smoke, they drink to much, the use street drugs, they drive too fast or drunk, and the lists goes on.

The more dangerous things you do, the more your odds of a long and happy life diminish. If these people are too stupid to understand the possible outcomes of their gathering in a big protest party, well, they get what they get. Unfortunately, like drunk drivers they will take others down with them. Some of the people in the video will get Covid, they will spread it to friends and family and they may die.

I am not a hard-hearted man, but they have made their choices and I have no sympathy for them.
