Trump's Tea Party: Are right-wing "open the country" protests an AstroTurf operation?

"So who is behind the sudden sprouting of right-wing resistance? Unlike with the Tea Party movement of the recent past, the mega-donors behind today's right-wing rallies are making no effort to hide their involvement.

FreedomWorks, the instrumental force behind the Tea Party, "is holding weekly virtual town halls with members of Congress, igniting an activist base of thousands of supporters across the nation to back up the effort" led by right-wing commentator Stephen Moore. the Associated Press reported. Other right-wing groups vocally opposing shutdowns include Americans for Prosperity, an organization funded by the Koch brothers, and the conservative Heritage Foundation.

There is even a connection to the family of Trump's Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos. As Michigan's governor noted, the DeVos family foundation helped fund Facebook ads for this week's protest. While noting that the Education Secretary ended her political spending when she joined Trump's Cabinet, a spokesperson for the family took a swipe at Whitmer. "They understand the frustration of fellow Michiganders, however, as elements of the governor's top-down approach appear to go beyond public safety," Nick Wasmiller told MLive, adding that "Michigan deserves competent governance."

Call 'em what they are, "Brownshirts"/With their, "You Can't Close America" rallies.

They are a minority of a minority trying to force their Fuhrer's way of thinking on all of us
in order to gain a political and economic advantage for the right wing. Trump, Betsy DeVos,
Eric Prince, Vlad, Stephen Miller, and low level clowns like Owen Shroyer are trying to whip up these beer
gut warriors into a strike force under the guise that their constitutional rights are being taken away with
the shut down in response to the C-19 pandemic. We have seen this movie before and it was the
rise of Hitler* in the in 1930s in Germany. Trump is on the ropes because he was part of the biggest fuck
up of all times w/the outbreak of C-19 and he wants those dumb ass "freedom fighters" out there
raising hell. Hence the red meat Trump throws out to them with his "they want to take away your 2nd
amendment freedoms."

And in the end if they wind up sick and/or dead from C-19 or get shot by law enforcement because they
like to flash their AR-15s as they protest their "oppressors" aka Governors, Mayors, & State Health
Dept. leaders who are trying to fight the virus (by the only means at their disposal and that is
shut downs, social distancing, and staying @ home) then Trump/Barr/Hannity/Vlad/and so on don't give a
shit about these modern day brownshirts they are just a means to an end.

* According to Trump's wife #1 Donald kept a copy of Hitler's speeches by his bed.

Otherwise known as the Reductio ad Hitlerum. It tends to weaken a position.
