Jim Bakker Begs Viewers: Dont Let Me Have to File for Bankruptcy
By Kyle Mantyla | April 20, 2020 1:28 pm
On his television program today, End Times pastor Jim Bakker begged viewers to send in donations by check so he can keep his ministry afloat and not have to declare bankruptcy.
As Right Wing Watch reported last week, Bakker is facing a dire financial crisis as a result of his network being unable to process credit card transactions ever since it found itself facing various legal problems for promoting the silver solution it sold as a possible cure for the COVID-19 coronavirus.

(22,363 posts)My guess is that he won't file bankruptcy because he would have to identify all of the assets. He would then be forced to sell them.
I wonder who his creditors are. It would be interesting to see what idiots lent him money.

(1,207 posts)I was the kid riding the bike down the road--- yeah, we lived that close to each other.
Back then, we all thought you were kinda weird, but I was (and still am) an Episcopalian. My friends were all either Episcopalians, or Methodists or Presbys. Lots of different things-- you know....it was Charlotte, NC in the seventies.
I would wave at Tammy as she drove by to go to Southpark. She was so nice, and always waved back.
We watched you as you got bigger...you know, you bought that huge ass property.
I just want to say "hi" as you grow older. Native Charlotteans are watching you. Most of us are fascinated; some of us wish you would just go to jail, or go on to some little property right over the line in SC and let your kids take care of you.
In any case, do go away. Please.

(27,165 posts)right when the Jessica Hahn scandal hit. Everything was just frozen - the cranes that had been building condos, etc. The park was still open, and there were relatively sparse crowds, so we had a good time. After Jim got out of jail and wrote a book it really looked as though was contrite and had learned his lesson, but he apparently didn't, since he's right back where he began, bilking money out of dumb-ass believers. Tammy was never even smart enough to recognize what she'd been involved in.
