What would be amazing is if he touched his own face with his paw while watching in the mirror. Then I'd be pretty convinced that he had figured out that he's looking at himself.

It would be more convincing if it used the mirror to look at something on its body normally hard to see, or it removed something from its body after seeing the reflection.
