Tennessee governor announces Safer at Home order to expire April 30

https://wreg.com/news/tennessee-governor-announces-stay-at-home-order-to-expire-april-30/

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced Monday that the state’s Safer at Home order will expire April 30, and the state will begin reopening its economy.

Lee said most businesses in the state will be allowed to open May 1, but he stressed that protective measures must continue.

“Social distancing must continue, but our economic shutdown cannot,” Lee said. “While I am not extending the safer at home order past the end of April, we are working directly with our major metropolitan areas to ensure they are in a position to reopen as soon and safely as possible. Social distancing works, and as we open up our economy, it will be more important than ever that we keep social distancing as lives and livelihoods depend on it.”

Lee said he will work with health departments in metropolitan areas like Shelby, Madison, Davidson, Hamilton, Knox and Sullivan counties as they plan their own strategies to begin reopening.

They do not need an order for stupid here.

Went to grocery today. Kroger staff sprayed & wiped handle of cart wearing a cloth mask. Very nice.

Most of the staff & delivery drivers working in store either did not have any mask on or they wore them like a necklace, under their chins, or had mouths but not noses covered.

Plexiglass shield up between cashier & customer area & cashier had mask hanging like a necklace.

ZERO SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Oh & prices are just a delight. $19 for SIX rolls of paper towels. Not happening here!

Bread that was $1.25/ loaf 2 wks ago is now $3-$3./50/ loaf.

Must be those high oil prices, right?

Red Hatter states are showing signs of blowing up (rapid climb in infections). This hasn't and can't (at this stage) penetrate the awareness of baggers, except perhaps that plant in South Dakota. The Wisconsin data showed that infection starts up again 5 days later and is detected a couple of days after (lab test round trip) and confirmed a couple days later when 3 day moving average confirms it. Call it 10 days. (Haven't seen updated graphs on Wisconsin data lately.)

With the bodybagger movement pushing and tRump et al, there will full churches in lots of places for the next two weekends. Then about April 27 alarm bells will be ringing in surprising places. However the lag in awareness for the red hatters will be one to five days later. Right about when tRump will crowing about "opening up" and people will surging together in groups as if released and not ready to tolerate the slightest bit of physical distancing.

By then it will be too late.

Any updates on church attendance yesterday and Wisconsin post-election infection rate?

Hell, that is lifelong & a badge of honor here. They would never connect the dots in this area. (Generally speaking.)

I haven't seen anything on WI church attendance from yesterday, but I can do some poking around.

BTW, RO factor for Memphis is 1.25, and Dem leaders in Memphis have been as proactive as they can be in this red hat state. Needs to be <1 to even start thinking about opening.

Do you have info on RO in Austin? Isn't that where Akex Jones was with hundreds shaking hands?

I am curious as to whether infections & deaths of arrogant preachers have quelked the Bible banging in unison.

Now, where did I put my Second Wave probability sheet?

Oh, here it is. Updating it.

I'd say...it looks like...we can expect it just around that time. Yup, massive resurgence in some areas and back to square one.

I think COVID-19 should thank all the fine people who have been doing their best to assure its reproductive success and sequels. There really should be an award.
