He can hold a massive Maggot rally.

Every Governor that opens needs to be first in line as the bowling allies open, gyms, hairs stylists and nail salons. Then he can spend the rest of his day at the beach cavorting with his constituents. Georgia and SC, I am looking at you.

We haven't stabilized the first one. The nurses and doctors are exhausted and so many of their number have died.

They are denied protective gear because THIS GOVERNMENT IS SEIZING IT all that the states are trying to bring in. THEY ARE BLOCKADING PPE! WTF!?

I have no more words when our elected officials are actively killing Americans for profit.

Guy on Maddow just now saying that perhaps only about 3% to 10% of the country was exposed in the first wave. Without mitigation, there's nothing protecting the rest of us.

"But San Francisco’s luck ran out when the THIRD wave of the Spanish flu struck in January 1919. Believing masks were what saved them the first time, businesses and theater owners fought back against public gathering orders. As a result, San Francisco ended up suffering some of the highest death rates from Spanish flu nationwide. The 2007 analysis found that if San Francisco had kept all of its anti-flu protections in place through the spring of 1919, it could have reduced deaths by 90 percent."

"That’s not to say that St. Louis survived the epidemic unharmed. Dehner says the midwestern city was hit particularly hard by the THIRD wave of the Spanish flu which returned in the late winter and spring of 1919."

if nothing else to escape home for a few days in place of a real vacation.

Beach areas, amusement parks and mountain escapes could be disaster areas......

If you can. If you can’t, then reach out. I’d gladly shop for at least one more household (I shop for two), so those still working can limit their exposure.

The rate of infections has increased in my zip code, and I’d do drop deliveries for my neighbors in addition to family. My partner is printing PPE.

Do as you can, and stay home, if you can. Is just too early, imo.

...
Did y’all know that mockingbirds sing at night? I didn’t know, til I could tend my feeders this well.

My sister and I are doing homecare for my soon to be 94 year old mom.

We have had deliveries of food. Now they are so booked we cannot get a slot. Her kids are dropping off food when they can. One is an ICU nurse and can't come in the house. She is exposed.

We had to let hospice and all the caretakers go, mom can't be exposed.

So tired.

If I lived close to you, I would do your shopping. I have a system.

I’m in Austin, TX. I have two immune compromised people (by age or disability categories despite not being prone to colds/etc.) in my life. I’d do stuff for any DUer - otherwise, I’m likely to reach out on next door.

I bet you’re tired, I don’t know how I’d work that in - I’m just exhausted from my extra bits of considering various details. Do you have a friend that could pick up, extra shopping for you?

Message me, if you’re in Austin - or more generally, if you want to talk through strategies.

You are a sweetheart.

I am on the east coast, a little to far. Thank you for your kindness.

When deliveries tightened up the kids chipped in and delivered groceries when they can. One drove from the western part of the state to stand in the entryway and talk to us for 30 minutes until she drove home. She can't come all the way in the house because of mom, no one can.

Thank you, please take care of yourself. Take every precaution to be safe.

No illness. I just think these are at the types of strategies that will fill in for a lack of decent government (by the one political party) stewardship of the systems we’re living under.

We’ve gotta reach out while keeping our safe distance.

Thanks, and seriously, we’re okay - sometimes I imagine what it would be like to go through previous life challenges right now, and it gets to me. Hang in there, and be sure to take good care of yourself!

All of our social distancing, economic impact, and the trillions in aid. All wasted.
