The Governors who are opening up their states against the advice of the medical community

If the number of infections and deaths in those respective states goes up significantly, THEY will bear complete responsibility for it, and they won't be able to pass the buck on this one

If that happens, they will have blood on their hands, and I would like to think that even in the reddest states that are doing this, they will feel the full political, and perhaps criminal wrath of their respective states

1. I agree. On the other hand, if infections don't go up, they'll be heroes to some.

Believe that is what most of them are thinking. Plus, they know they won't get help from the feds very easily if their economy gets worse.

I know, the economy is not worth lives. Try telling that to these officials, and a bunch of voters.

asymptomatic, while exposing others to it, especially those in high risk situation.

Whether infections go up or not, in my view it is taking an unnecessary risk, and effectively gambling with people's lives

Totally irresponsible

8. I get it, but lots of people are working -- grocers, healthcare, police, drug stores, transportation

farmers, truck drivers, undocumented workers with no unemployment, plumbers, EMS, etc. In fact, more folks are working, than not.

At some point, those working are going to question why they are, and others aren't.

I hope employers that choose to "reopen" take every precaution possible, and do not pressure employees to return (although, there will always be subtle pressure).

It shouldn't be this way -- and I wish it weren't -- but it is. The political aspect of this will carry right into the November election too.

I wonder if this is a plan to have Trump come in and say no you must not open so he can appear to be in charge of the Governors like he tried to pull off last week. Georgia's cases are still increasing so it's a mind boggling stupid move because their numbers are just going to sky rocket in a few weeks..... Crazy!!!!!

But then again he has never hesitated to contradict himself from one moment to the next. God, I just can't stand him and I can't stand that my heart and mind is filled with such anger and hatred. Nothing feels good.

In this case if the infection occurs, it will take a little longer than the 72 hours, because of the nature of the Corona Virus

Thanks for the historical background Cha

It is necessary because a lot of people are very unaware

I think we can all understand the need to open back up as soon as we can safely do so. A lot of people are out of work. A lot of kids are out of school. At some point we have to resume the norms of society or there will be no society left.

And this is a concern world wide. Even some of the democratic socialist governments of Western Europe are taking tentative steps toward reopening.

And when we do start to reopen we need very aggressive monitoring and testing in place so that if the virus tries to make a comeback we can lock down again. And of course we are nowhere near there yet when it comes to adequate testing.
