Proposed bill would cancel rent and mortgages during COVID-19 pandemic

The 'Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act' would also create a fund for landlords and mortgage holders to cover losses from the canceled payments nationwide for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act would establish full rent payment forgiveness, with no build-up of debt for renters or homeowners, regardless of income. The legislation would also establish a relief fund for landlords and mortgage holders to cover losses from the canceled payments.

because they won't be squeezing the last drop of blood out of working families. The proposal sets up a funding pool of fed $ to pay the almighty banks & landlords.

I've yet to see ONE penny from this fiasco. I am still waiting on the $1200 and never expect to see the 10K I my business applied for.

Maybe I blinked & missed the teensy assistance.

My guess is that the repukes figured out a way to steal the extra unemployment fund, so they are forcing people back to work so they can get their filthy, blood soaked hands on that, too. (I have no idea how this could hapoen, but you know how they are. )

Maybe the thinking is to negotiate down to only those who lost jobs?

Or maybe they are trying to give everyone a break from the oppressive circumstances that have been ongoing for decades. I don't know any more than what was in article.
