I just got off their website after making up an account [I'm breathless] and spending $77 & change on stuff.I did buy one of them trucks. For me!
Some gift cards, stamps and a tee to rack in.
Thanks for the heads up! Why not, I'm loaded. No--JK! Nobody made me.
I want the USPS to stay viable.
Everbody, pitch in!

(12,937 posts)Philatelists buy stamps at face value and then - wait for it - don't use the stamps. The USPS gets the money and doesn't have to provide the service.
I collect whole panes with the plate numbers. These days, $11 a shot for the normal "Forever" stamps. A pane of the $10 definitive costs a cool $100. The commemorative stamp panes often have fancy borders.

You collect these for decades then then, when you die, your children have to figure out what to do with them. For panes a couple of decades old, the increase in value will almost justify the hassle of dealing with them. Of course, the guilt from disposing of albums collected by the old man since he was in high school will be awful.

(31,395 posts)I've long had a weakness for stamps, even though I rarely use them. Perhaps laying down a few $$ would inspire me to write more, as I should.
