(12,712 posts)If media in general was about getting the facts to us and investigation, then wouldn't that be the dominant message that would accompany any reporting on the AstroTurf manipulations, (which should also be emphasized)?
I can see sensationalism as driving viewership and that's just an extension of the "if it bleeds it leads" model, but what's the underlying motivation to be "news" and "reporting" if it is going to end up inflating, exaggerating and thereby supporting these events and giving them wheels?
