(10,108 posts)I'm in Redondo but I immediately turned on the news and went online and nothing had been reported. Soooo, I thought maybe the guy upstairs is slamming doors or something.

After living through the one in Loma Prieta in 89...it takes more to really "shake" me....

(3,392 posts)By the way, when it comes to earthquakes, theres an app for that! Probably several. I use QuakeFeed. It sends notifications. You can set the size and locale. FYI.
Also, the next natural disaster will be a real mess. I mean, by definition, they always are. But think of it. Whether its a tornado, a hurricane, a flood or an earthquake, it will mean people left without shelter. Usually the photos in the news show those temporarily displaced sleeping on cots in close quarters in high school gyms. With Covid in the air, it could compound the problems. Any genuine leaders would be planning contingencies. Im sure no one in this administration is doing so.

(4,652 posts)My daughter lives in the Eastern Sierra - I looked it up and it shows that they had a 4.1 quake yesterday.
I just called her and she couldn't talk because she's doing stuff in her garden, so I guess it wasn't that bad there - or conversley, she's just used to them.
