(6,448 posts)Guns, starvation, homelessness, war for oil/imaginary weapons of mass destruction, denying health care, and now a pandemic.
They aren't pro-life. They're pro-fetus (anti-women) and xenophobic to the point of violence.
No sane person or true patriot should ever vote for these reptiles.

(12,492 posts)The named businesses are being allowed to reopen; not told to reopen. The choice is up to the owners.
And workers can earn up to $300 a week and still get UE.

(5,721 posts)Society will still continue to function when this shit hits hundreds of reopened businesses and thousands of employers and employees! The economy will be booming, in fact! Kay Ay Gee Twenny Twenny wooooo!

Seriously, though, get this out there, distribute Gianoulidis' tweet everywhere you can, even to venues you know are already crawling with wrongwing idiots. The ones who are in the crosshairs of this idiocy need to know, and they need to speak the hell up.

(35,423 posts)There is a resilient segment of the GOP/White vote that values being White over life itself. It's more than their identity. It's their entire existence.
If government helps everyone equally, than that diminishes their "Whiteness". Better that folks should die.

(2,990 posts)Airports outside of Georgia (both within and beyond the US) should ban arrivals coming from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. Given Georgia's unwillingness to take the pandemic seriously, there is too great a risk for infection arriving by air from that state. It's a matter of safety.
Hartsfield-Jackson is one of the largest and busiest airports in the US, and it's the major hub for Delta.
DENVERPOPS
(8,790 posts)the major hub for Fedex and/or UPS.........

(12,492 posts)So Chicago cant just say "no more flights from ATL"

(2,990 posts)But airports in other countries certainly can. And, in my opinion, should.

(45,380 posts)They're hoping enough voters die before the next election as their strategy to stay in power to avoid raising taxes on the fabulously wealthy corporations of Georgia.

(12,492 posts)I know of some places that have announced they are re opening with the new guidelines, and others that are waiting.
NOT opening does NOT stop your unemployment insurance. You can even earn up to $300 a week and still get UE.
Banks have NEVER closed.
Almost all of the businesses being allowed to reopen are self employment type places with small numbers of people. Those are the best ones to stat with to see if the new guidelines will help with control. Instead of concert halls, theaters and other places where you'd get 500+ people together.
My friend is a hairdresser. She said her shop will allow one client in at a time & clean everything in between. Her salon has "cubicles", so you're never close to anyone BUT the stylist. They all will be wearing masks; as will the client. Seems like a good way to go. I could be wrong, but how often does that happen
Regardless, in 6-8 weeks we'll know what the right decision was.

(8,019 posts)Walmart is full of republican employees. These governors are cutting their own throats.
I just feel for the good democrats in the south that don't get a say in all of this because their redneck neighbors keep voting for these damned republicans, and then these damned republicans gerrymander the voting districts to keep democrats out of office.
Rabrrrrrr
(58,347 posts)and they can't afford their medical bills, then the feds (that is, the Northern/Yankee/Blue states) have to pay for it.
So Georgia wins triply: they reduce their minority population, they save money on unemployment, and all the costs generated because of their malfeasance and idiocy as people get sick and/or die get shifted to the "goddamn gummint" that they hate so much but which has been covering their financial mismanagement for 150 years.

(9,426 posts)should be suspended, until they come up with SENSIBLE solutions to this mess the stupid president has caused. No matter how they slice it, this is TRUMP'S fault. He has no idea what the duties of a president are, nor does he care. He makes money from ignoring the emoluments clause, with his businesses and that is his main objective. Easiest, most lucrative gig he has ever had.
