Georgia Democratic lawmaker announces resignation week after endorsing Trump

His constant use of Democrat Party instead of Democratic Party let's us known he is too far gone to recover.

*******************************************************************************************************

A little more than a week after he announced that he was endorsing President Donald Trump, Democratic state Rep. Vernon Jones announced Wednesday morning that he would not complete his term.

“Turn the lights off, I have left the plantation,” Jones said in a statement. “Someone else can occupy that suite. Therefore, I intend not to complete my term effective April 22, 2020.”His spokesman said the Lithonia Democrat would not be seeking re-election.“I don’t plan to leave the Democratic Party because somebody’s got to be in there to hold them accountable —hold them accountable to how they are treating black people (and) root out the bigotry,” Jones said on The Rashad Richey Morning Show shortly after announcing his resignation.

and was DeKalb County Commission Chairman. Corrupt, though, so it makes sense he’d find his way to the Republican Party.

Good riddance.

Its just a slap in the face to all the people that have been working on criminal justice reform so many years to give Trump the credit as if him and Jared came up with these ideas all on their own.

How can you speak about rooting out bigotry and support Trump at the same time. Thats an oxymoron.

no I mean seriously. When I first heard what he said, it seemed so unbelievable. Maybe he's having a sort of breakdown.

and wouldnt take care of your part of the county unless you 'played ball' with him and his cronies.

This is why there were so many new towns chartered in DeKalb County (were he was former county CEO) over last 10-15 years.
