there's really only one reason republicans are talking about opening things up.

quite simply, the more reckless the masses are, the quicker the virus spreads through the population and the quicker we get to the point where 70% or so of us have acquired an immunity (or died), at which point it would be (comparatively) safe for much of the economy to return to normal.

they know damn well that this means massive and unnecessary suffering and deaths as the number of serious cases continues to exceeds the capacity of our health care system.

they don't care. they want to get to the point of reopening the economy faster and they are willng -- no, eager -- to have tens or even hundreds of thousands of extra americans die for no greater purpose than to restart the economy a few weeks or maybe a few months sooner than it would otherwise. they don't want the spread of the disease to be limited based on hospital capacity or anything else, because that delays the point at which they resume making money.

and like the generals who lead from behind in a war, the real people behind this twisted point of view will remain safely in their homes while other people put risk their lives.

wanted to cull the herd. The R's only care about money and power, and the idiot R's tRumpsters that die along with the rest of us, well, tRump doesn't give a F about them either ... they and the religious are just useful stupid tools for their vote that he caters to.

No collecting unemployment if they’re open, and they can and will fire people for refusing to work in dangerous conditions. And now they want businesses immune from lawsuits if workers get sick.

seems like everything corporations have done to other countries...with the help of the U.S. military, is being done to us.

Look at the states making the most noise about lifting stay at home orders and non-essential business bans. They are the ones with the shittiest unemployment systems and horrific budgets.

11. They want to make the economy seem to be improving before November!

They will do ANYTHING to keep Trump in power.
That's the only thing important to them right now.
If they can create the illusion that the economy is on the way up before November it will help Trump win again.

After November if the economy completely collapses as a result of their decisions they don't really care because if Trump remains president he will eliminate all vestiges liberalism in our government and that is more important than anything.
