Most of the Kentuckians I know are sensible people who have thoroughly loathed him for many years. They complain about a certain fatalism there that says as bad as he is, someone else will likely be worse so they go for the devil they know. In addition, there are a lot of people who get suckered by his Senator Cornpone Crackerbarrel act, jes plain folks and he loves y'all.
