Anybody see the movie last night No Blade of Grass on TCM

It was made in 1970 and the world is starting to experience a virus that kills all grains such rice, wheat, barley etc. Things are still comfortable in London but they were showing scenes of the famine in Africa with starved babies and adults while the Londoners are eating prime rib, potatoes and other delicacies. While the tv is on in this restaurant this woman makes a comment to her husband that made me almost fall out of my chair. “ George! You know what I think caused the virus Chinese fertilize everything with human shit” the husband says “if this is true [we need to sue them)” paraphrased the response because I couldn’t understand his English accent. .

Some attitudes never change and this was 50 years ago!

4. Actually, lye soap is useful in cleaning vegetables grown with human waste as fertilizer.

Covid-19 can also be destroyed by using lye soap so I have hope...

6. I didn't see the movie but...

My dad belonged to a science fiction book club so I read the book as a kid about 60 years ago. It was one of the first books I ever read. It was pretty frightening to me at the time.
