Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) previously said doctors should be more concerned about the economic fallout of the pandemic, rather than death tolls.
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) is very focused on reopening the economy no matter what.
On Monday, in an interview with a local TV station, Biggs suggested people shouldn't listen to doctors advising the country to remain shut down and said doctors should instead "help revitalize the economy."
In an interview on Thursday with conservative radio host Todd Starnes, Biggs said people concerned about reopenings don't understand the underlying economic questions.

(13,903 posts)Play the bet that had they done nothing the economy would have closed down not because the gov't ordered but because of the hundreds of thousands dead.
No one to work the jobs because too many are dead.
Of course it is much safer to say we should have placed that bet now.
Unfortunately this is not over and may come back.
Short sighted stupidity.

(25,111 posts)If the workers are not healthy and therefore contagious then that creates an unhealthy environment, and thereby creates continued infections inside and outside of the work place. Then many will get sick and some will die.
Economy 101 - make sure your workers are healthy and their respectful work locations are clean and safe.

(45,806 posts)getting a haircut, etc. they won't go, and an open store or restaurant without customers is worse than a closed one. t least when closed they didn't have to pay their employees and worry about constantly sanitizing everything all the time. First & foremost, people HAVE to feel safe & confident. That's just not the case yet.
