Here's the thing with Trump and people like him.
Yes, Trump is a narcissist. In my opinion, he is so malignant, or extreme, I actually think that the people who coin the terms for disorders should coin a new term for his type of behavior that reflects how utterly dangerous he is.
Here's what he does: It's a very easy pattern to recognize.
First, he'll say something. It may cause your eyes to widen. If you can't really think at all for yourself, you may be impressed by what he said. Most normal people might cock their head, tell themselves "that doesn't sound right", and then go and do some research on what he said. Sometimes, he'll say something so extreme, that it is completely unbelievable. That will cause normal people to mock him, gasp in horror, say "I can't believe he said that, etc.".
Secondly, some time after he makes his comments, he will be called out on them. He will then say "I didn't mean it, you heard me wrong, I was joking, I never said that, where did you hear that?, I just wanted to get your reaction, etc.
Here's the only thing you need to remember about Trump.
LITERALLY.EVERY.FUCKING.THING.THAT.COMES.OUT.OF.HIS.MOUTH.IS.EITHER.
COMPLETE.BULLSHIT.OR MASSIVELY.EXAGGERATED.SALESMANSHIP.
Always. Without fail.
If you tend to believe one thing that ever comes out of his mouth, you are susceptible to being sucked down his gaslighting rabbit hole. If you continue to attempt to believe him long enough, you will have a distorted perception of reality. Do it even longer, and you may quite literally lose your own mind.
So when I hear him, the only thing I repeat to myself is the word LIE. Because EVERYTHING he says is a LIE.
