(24,824 posts)NY has given $116 billion more to the federal government than we received since 2015.
Kentucky *took* $148 billion more from the federal government than it gave.
Just give NY our money back, Senator McConnell.

(25,355 posts)day? His briefings usually run for 45 to 60 minutes starting around 11:30 am every day, including Sat and Sun. I guess it's not surprising that CNN covers him.
Cuomo's briefings are honest and factual. Entertaining, too, when he takes on Trump and his enablers.
They are covering all of it.
COVID-45 Im sure watches it as well.

(25,355 posts)is my source. That's why I was asking about international coverage of Cuomo's conferences, since my source is a local station. Part of southern Ontario is in our listening area here, and it's probably true that Canada is included in other border listening and viewing areas, too. But I did not realize until this thread that national TV was still carrying Cuomo daily, and internationally, too.
I don't listen to or watch the genocide creep in the WH. Irritates me immensely that NPR carries his 2 hour political rally daily. At least now that he is pouting about the well-deserved and long overdue criticism for his stupid comments on disinfecting covid patients, we don't have to hear his BS - for now anyway. He will probably be back on the air in some other capacity.
But I still have not excused NPR for their daily coverage of the full 2 hours of the Bloviating Buffoon-in-chief. They could have - and should have - aired a summary of his BS. Cuomo, on the other hand provides factual information that is newsworthy.

(1,284 posts)They stopped putting the Orange Menace on. They have a online feed for anyone that wants to listen.
I cant fault NPR for broadcasting him as repulsive as he is, it is news, the Orange Menace is harming himself more than helping spouting his mouth off.

(25,355 posts)I do fault them for carrying the full 2 hours. Most of it is rambling BS. He focuses on himself, the economy, and political views he wants to promote for his election. And says incredibly stupid and harmful things that mislead the public. NPR does a disservice to listeners by covering his campaign speeches that he pretends are pressers.
It's a circus sideshow, not news. They ae promoting his election campaign by airing this phony show every night for 2 hours. It takes up all of the time for All Things Considered and half of the time for Fresh Air. They do not need to cover the whole 2 hours. Many media don't cover it at all. I get all I need to know from the summaries in the news and excerpts played, in a few seconds of playback. That's all that's necessary to cover whatever newsworthy information of value that might accidentally slip into one of those pressers.

(869 posts)spine, that's the "tell it like it is" spirit this country needs. You can't make a republican your friend, they're not going to approve of you. You have to fight back against bullies, it's the only language they will understand.
He needs to run for president one day.

(25,355 posts)mighty stupid for suggesting that NY go bankrupt. It amounts to killing the goose lhat lays the golden eggs. Something that Amy McGrath can use in her ads.
Bailing out NY and other donor states now would help KY and other recipient states in the long run. To use another cliche, Moscow Mitch is shooting himself in the foot.
I heard Schumer in an interview today say that Republican governors, Senators, and House members do not agree with MM, which puts MM on the fringes when he wants to in control in the center of things.
BTW, MM does not "bring home the bacon" for KY on the issue of donor vs. recipient states. That's got nothing to do with MM or with Cuomo, either. It's just the way the US fiscal sharing system is set up. It was that way before MM and will be that way after him. Except that if MM has his way about bankrupting NY, there will be no more gravy train from NY to KY

In some places, there's hardly anyone who doesn't depend on federal gummint largesse in one way or another - or hardly any new building built (that's bigger than an outhouse), that isn't built with federal dollars.
But Southern Republicans daydream non-stop with the Confederacy.
