I don't blame Trump. I blame the Republican party that continues to enable him.

At any other normal period in our history, leaders of the Republican party would be headed towards the White House and gently ask Trump to resign the office. That's what a national political party interested in being a partner in governing and concerned about the well being of this nation would do.

Instead we have a political party who thinks that its sole purpose is to protect and expand the wealth of the 1% at any cost including having a complete bufoon as president. They have no regard for the health and safety of the American people. In fact, they're willing to let Americans die in service to maintaining the wealth of the 1%.

As a party, the Democrats need to seize and hold power unilaterally until the Republicans come to their senses. We simply cannot allow them access to power any where in this nation.

We don't have to subject ourselves to presidents that are completely unfit for the job esp. during a crisis. Trump is terrible, and we know that. However, he's being protected by Republicans.

Thus, they get the blame.

is deflecting blame away from one of the worst people this country has ever produced.

Not sure why you’re attempting this but fuck that. Full stop.

We’ll get around to the Republican party’s role in this fiasco once every member of the Trump cabal has been dealt with.

The man deserves a ton of blame. He should spend the rest of his life in a six by six cell with a steel toilet, with his corrupt son-in-law in the next cell.

But one thing I've learned throughout my lifetime is the more of a drooling vegetable you are, the better puppet president you'll make, according to the GOP.

That's how a functioning party operates.

Just because he has a bunch of sycophants around him doesn't absolve him of responsibility.

Let the Republican Party enjoy being pulled down by the rotting dead hooker they are chained to. Perhaps the wildlife will feast on them on the way down.

The 1% should be FORCED to return back to Post WW II tax rates, along with all in the upper class. They have enjoyed 50 years of recklessness at the expense of those below them, so they have no complaint.

Actually, a good deal of blame also goes to right wing media and those who allowed it to gain a foothold in the US.

Not the free speech issue but allowing right wing media conglomerates to buy up all of AM radio and concentrate buying of market areas for television and radio.

As far as the purpose of the Republican Party... that has been the goal since Nixon's time at least. The difference again, is that Nixon and the GOP had to contend with a relatively objective press that held their feet to the fire.

We really underestimate the effect on a completely right wing propaganda media ecosystem on our current state of affairs. Before then, people had to at least live in the same reality and fight it out using the same facts. Now, a good chunk of the population things that we had a President who was a "secret Muslim" and was born in Kenya and not a US citizen. People really think the Hillary Clinton had Vince Foster and many other people killed. That Newtown was a fake and "crisis actors" were used to try to take away people's rights to own firearms.

There have always been cranks. We had the John Birch Society but they were fringe and had no real place in politics. Now we have Q-Anon, that receives favorable coverage from a small and stupid network, but one that is endorsed by the idiot in the White House.

Republicans are where they are because they got into bed with crazy ass right wingers to inflate the power of their dwindling numbers. Now those nut bags are the base, smaller, but highly motivated. No one wants to cross them because they vote, and they vote how Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones, and these other POSs tell them to.
