General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsAs of 3:40 PM PT, 35,851 new CV cases have been reported for the day in the US.
That's the highest one-day new case total for the country we've seen. Daily new cases have been increasing for the past several days.
And the reporting day isn't over yet.

(64,851 posts)Here in IL we've never been over 10,000 tests in a day.
Yesterday it was >16,100, and they're expecting a similar number today. Essentially 3.4 days in 2 days. Seems a huge deal.
If those states were anything like IL, waiting on reagent & swabs, we may be seeing a big uptick in daily testing from all over.

(51,565 posts)Look below the ststes chart and they have 4 graphs, linear and bar, for 4 different stats. The bar graph goes up and down for 3 weeks but the average if you eyeball it is about 2,700 new cases a day.

(4,612 posts)Not sure if you're looking at daily deaths, which is closer to low 2,000's per day.

(51,565 posts)you will see that the "daily new cases" has leveled out at about 2,700 per day for about 3 weeks (April 3rd). The "daily deaths" bar graph shows the numbers still climbing but the numbers still vary greatly on a day-to-day basis.
