Second Homeowner neighbor drama... assholes!

They showed up last weekend, after 3 weeks of shelter in place in CA

They live somewhere in the Bay Area, i never really saw them enough to get to know them....they usually rent the place out and that's a whole 'nother hell.

Unfortunately I couldn't catch them outside and I wasnt going to their door but I was really going to tell them that we had rules even up her in the county about 2nd homeowners. The sheriff had issued it 2 weeks ago. I filed an online complaint form cuz I couldn;t get the right # for the weekend... buut I did follow up during the week to get it on record.
~

Then, monday, they were gone. Home the the Bay I guess...Then yesterday evening, they rolled up AGAIN.

OH? Is this how it's gonna be? FUCK YOU

I called last noght and the dispatch said they'd send someone out, never happened.

Just now I caught the wife outside, chatting it up with some other people who were hiking in the neightborhood. Also, the Door DAsh guy shows up and she has him set the bag down while she continues her chat...

I just dove right in
"You know you guys aren't supposed to be here."

She got all flustered, knew I was right...

Then her husband came out on the deck and told me he owns the house blah blah

I said you can't just roll up here on the weekend and then go back to wherever for the week, that's not how it is done.

I said I dont appreciate this behavior, when you know it's not right
The wife said well I dont appreciate YOU (haha I almost laughed at that one)

Also said YOU don't live here I DO
He said I live here too... I was like NO, that's not how it works and you know it

So anyway.... I told them both that I was calling the sheriff again. and finished it by saying You need to leave, NOW

Im very proud of myself for not cussing. I am also all amped up on adrenaline right now...
I hope the sheriff showing up scares them. If it's one of the ones I actually KNOW, he'd be perfect

The sheer SELFISHNESS galls me
And the whole "I have rights" Argument... no, when we are all in danger, your rights are tightened (not suspended, but enforced more). That's what "Emergency Orders" ARE

This is in CA, I can't imagine what is going on in these other states

....AND as I write this they have another delivery persoon at their door...DIRECT CONTACT, no distancing...
(and that kid has no idea they are from a highly infected and populated area...)

wtaf?

I was not overtly hostile, just letting them know they are out of line.

Others going from store to store in search of some item or another.

Others going golfing “because they can.”

Pay attention to the threads around here, and you’ll find plenty to be upset about. Honestly though, Mrs. Kravitz comes to mind.

the mountain resort areas are closed along the I-70 corridor due to major EARLY COVID activity totally traced to tourists and influx of second homeowners? They now restrict inflow from non-permanent residents. So, this AG thinks he should file suit on behalf of himself and all the wealthy (selfish as hell) Texans.

A'holes.

I see similar things in my neighborhood in TN. No soc distancing. Right now, yhere is a little kid's bday party ongoing a couple of doors down. About 5 cars & little kids running in & out of house & carport. No soc distancing at all. WTF are these peopke thinking??? 😳

This is typical of this area. I see delivery people & strangers stopping to ask if people wanf lawns cut - zero distancing.

Police showed up at a neighbors 2 days ago (clueless why) - no masks or gloves. No distancing.

🤬

Let us know how it shakes out for you.

So apparently out Head County sheriff @ El Dorado is NOT enforcing this because he maintains that no matter WHAT the Governor says, it is a Constitutional right....
(bet he's a MAGAt) https://www.edcgov.us/Government/sheriff

So I am advised to social distance but they wont fine or come talk to them...

I am so pissed.

distancing is a problem. However if they own the place, why can't they use it? Why don't you calm down and just stay away? Your anger isn't good for you.

Also, we are a very small rural town and have 5 ICU units for a population of 20K

If they want to use the place, then they need to pick one. not travel back and forth from a highly populated and very big infection population.

It's not rocket science.

But "someone" has to be in charge...righ now it's the states and I would assume if the county is in alignment with the state there should be no argument?

I can't wait to see if my county supervisor answers the question over whether she can require the sheriff to enforce.

in the woods of New Hampshire. Never rented out, just used by family for ski trips and hanging out. It's closed down for the winter, but winter is over and we're going to go up and check on the place, and turn the water on.

We will not be stopping at any store or restaurant.

When this is over, these people will still be your neighbors, and the rift may never heal. But I understand your fear.

First, don't tell the evil neighbors that you are the one that called.

Second, do NOT call the local sheriff, call the state police.

From someone that spent 8 years in court with evil Calif. neighbors.

And they are not evil, just stupid.

I will be calling our County Supervisor this monday...She issued an order banning the travel in & out of the area, it's the Sheriff who is refusing to enforce... so who has the authority there?

Our local rural hospital has only 68 beds, only 7 of those are ICU for a 20K community.
These people can go back to their metro hospitals, we're the ones who get screwed....

ALL beaches and parks and trailheads and recreation is CLOSED so are the casinos for that matter and HOTELS or Vacation rentals who offer rooms get fined... so why is there still that leak in context?
