In interviews, Republican lawmakers, administration officials and members of his re-election campaign said they wanted Mr. Trump to limit his error-filled appearances at the West Wing briefings and move more aggressively to prepare for the looming recession. Some even suggested he summon a broader range of the countrys leaders, including former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, in an all-hands-on-deck moment to respond to the national emergency.

His recommendation to not ingest cleaning products was said with a very dismissive, "head shaking" fashion.

(3,146 posts)Barack Obama and Dubya can lend some steady hands and valuable experience during this BUT I fear they're setting a trap where Trump can "pass the buck".

(9,713 posts)That these cowardly enablers of Trump would grow a set and speak their mind directly to the camera for once.
Until then, they can wish and dream all they want privately with a reporter; it's a fantasy position that does not indicate their true intentions.

(11,767 posts)See Trump. That is
There is NO WAY IN HELL that Trump would EVER reach out especially to President Obama. It is silly of people even to think about this as a strategy. To be sure, President Obama would graciously accept and do everything in his power to help.
To Trump however, asking for help in general is simply weakness...Period. Asking him to ask President OBAMA for help is like asking him to shove a pineapple up his ass, leaf side forward.

(31,261 posts)Trump is in way, infinitely over his head, but his fragile ego would never allow him to ask Bush and particularly President Obama for guidance. Unless those former Presidents are given free hand to right the ship, they shouldn't accept without conditions that their studied decisions are final, not to be overruled by Trump.
