My college is on a total shutdown, almost no one is even allowed on campus, just looked it up yesterday. And I have two cousins who were graduates of West Point. They are not Trump supporters.

My brother is an Air Force Acadamy Graduate and over the years has become much less conservative. He can't stand Trump. He's not exactly liberal, but he knows what is going on and doesn't like it one bit. He just retired from the AF as a Colonel and his views are much different now then they were when his entered the Academy.

Though he's both young and old enough not to have been called for active duty. His Dad, also career Army, served in Vietnam, I'm related on his mother's side. And we have had political discussions, he liked to say he was "middle of the road," LOL. But he married a girl who is pretty liberal, so there's that, and he actually got me in touch with his late father-in-law, he knew I'd like him. This guy was incorrigible, liked to send scathing/yet humorous letters to people like John Ashcroft! So my "middle-of-the-road" cousin didn't stand a chance...

West Point plans to mass test and soft quarantine cadets coming back to graduate, 4/25/20

Cadets will return to campus in small, staggered groups. They’ll be paced in hard structures in the summer training area and wait there for tests results to come back, which should be the same day the swab is taken.

“If they come back clean, they’ll come on campus to their dorm room, and we’re calling it a soft quarantine,” said West Point spokesman Lt. Col. Christopher Ophardt.

“They won’t be moving in big groups and having formations,” he added, saying that it’s still yet to be determined what that soft quarantine will entail because of constant updates to Center for Disease Control and Army guidance.

... The New York Times reported Friday that the president’s announcement at a news conference that he was still attending the graduation caught West Point officials off-guard, though the Times noted that planning had already been underway even if it had not been announced. Cadets have also always known that returning to West Point would have to happen in some manner, said Ophardt.

“They were always told along the way that they’d have to come back, get their stuff, commission and go off to training," Ophardt added. "So they always knew they were coming back.”

The Naval Academy will have a digital graduation ... are the new ensigns all going back to Annapolis to "get their stuff"?

That’s so military, and yet not. Give it a name before you do it that’ll make it sound better. But this isn’t an “exercise.” It’s just plain bs. They can get their stuff without gathering for a rally.
