At this rate there will 100,000 deaths by June????

We are up to 53,000 death as of today. That is probably a low end number. Trump and his experts have been telling us for weeks there will be 60,000 deaths by August. We will be at 60,000 deaths by May.

Now we are being told the death rate will drop big time by June, Really? What I see is the bending of the curve at a high level. I still see the virus spreading everywhere. I see states attempting to open things up. Everyday another nursing home gets hit, another food plant gets hit, another prison gets hit.

There is still not enough protective gear. Trump completely failed when it comes to testing. It looks like it is going to take many more weeks, months before testing reaches a level where it should be.

I tell you what, something may happen by the start of June. When June arrives and if things have not improved a lot, that will finish off the Trump presidency. His presidency has already been seriously damaged by his dereliction of duty, stupidity. His experts will look like complete fools. They have been lying from day one, except for Fauci.

Trump and his experts better hope things change big time by June. The American people's patience is already starting to run out. If things to not get a lot better by June, none of their predictions will ever be taken seriously again.

When it comes to death, the American people do not like being lied to, they want to hear the truth. Lying about death does not work. Even a Trump voter will notice when a loved one disappears forever.

Trump's gruesome new pandemic pivot would be ludicrous — if his followers weren't so ready to swallow the poison

that they were saying the projections were "down to" 60000 deaths. and i remember scratching my head and thinking, how the hell can we only be looking at 60k, when we are already at 40k and most parts of the country have not even peaked yet...........

US currently has about 33% of coronavirus infections
and about 25% of coronavirus deaths that have been reported

Are other countries not fully reporting figures? For sure.
But neither is Trump.

With all the wealth, technology and the US paying twice as much as anyone else for healthcare, the numbers should be much, much better for the US relative to the rest of the world. The US should be leading in good results - not leading in the worst results.

Here's the US figures as of yesterday:
https://coronavirus.1point3acres.com/en
Active cases: 798,019
Recovered: 108,272
Deaths: 54,266

It is a fact that the US numbers are under reported. Many of those who have died at home or in an abandoned alley are not included.

If you extrapolate Active cases into either recovered or dead from those numbers, 266 thousand more from the active cases are going to die - for a total of 320 thousand. With 31,750 new cases reported yesterday, the new cases hasn't slowed much with places like Georgia opening up to trigger a second worse wave. Regardless, a lot more Americans are going to die with no one in the federal government capable of managing the problem having the authority to stop it.

There are states life Georgia and Florida that only count covid deaths of there own citizens. If you die in FL as a tourist or an unregistered voter, it didn't happen

rate of new cases and deaths is ramping up. A lot.

If we only look at the aggregate, New York and it's tri-state area are going to skew our understanding. We here in New York are seeing a reduction in both the contagion and death rate. But communities who have not yet been hit hard are using aggregate numbers to make decisions, and they are seeing steep increases in new cases.

I knew the IHME estimate of 60,000 dead was complete bullshit the moment I saw them using a bell curve. No one seriously thinks we'll get to zero deaths even under a best case scenario, yet there it was on that crap graph.
