Trump and the Briefings. Help me out here.

In light of his temper tantrum not to hold the briefings anymore because, " they aren't worth it." What praytell did he hope to accomplish? Why did he do them anyway? What was he looking for? He's the President for godsakes, leader of the free world.
What does he think the job really is? I'm baffled, he doesn't seem to excel at any of it?

1. His job, as it has been his whole life, is criminal self-profiteering.

He had a ton of money and could have used it for good, both for himself and society. However, he didn't do that, he cheated and acted criminally constantly because he hates everyone other than himself and maybe whoever is currently fluffing him. He is a net loss on society, he doesn't have it in him to do good because you'd have to care about some people other than himself and anyone who helps him, and he has zero of that in him - there is zero empathy or caring because he hates us because we won't worship him. Hell, he hates the people who worship him too, because they're obviously defective. So when this came along, first thing he did was make it a ton bigger by not allowing testing until HIS tiny, losing $$ company, could get one out. It took those fuckups 12 weeks to reproduce something WHO already had, 3 months while the virus spread unabated throughout our country! Then he and Jared are personally profiteering off the National Strategic Reserve. Americans have already paid for those supplies, yet he is sending them to a private co. (no bids I'd bet) which is driving up the prices astronomically, making states big against each other so they get fewer resources & drumpf and jared personally profit while people are dying directly because of their profiteering murderous scheme.

2. He's too lazy to do a good job at much of anything.

If he had only attended his own task force briefing, he would have understood the context in which disinfectants and light were being discussed. He didn’t attend, and he didn’t understand, so he made a fool of himself.

Now he’s pouting. He has no one but himself to blame. That, for him, is intolerable.

3. Trump thought he could use those briefings as a replacement for rallies.

He can't go out now and hold big, noisy campaign rallies, so he went on TV with the briefings. Problem was, they didn't work the same way, and he came off looking like the ignorant fool he really is.

He's done with all that now. Pretty soon, you'll see him back holding in-person rallies again, in states that have "opened." Probably the first one will be in Georgia. Maybe Florida. Or, perhaps he'll choose a state that has low C-19 statistics, like Montana or Wyoming.

This sounds the most logical. I was reading the headlines this morning and just wondering what he thought.

We still have limits on group gatherings.

I doubt that Gov. Bullock would grant an exception for everyone on Air Force 1.

And even our tame press is far from a crowd of maggats in the orgasmic throes of worshipful adoration, seeing elevated before them a cheap thug under a hairspray crown who embodies the very worst elements of their own characters, so they can see themselves magnified in his image....

The briefings were a way to get before the people and brag about what a great job he was doing. A chance for him to bathe in the limelight and glory. Now that he blew that with his incredibly stupid comments, and sees how the world reacted, he may be, for the first time in his life, embarrassed. So now, he is going to take his toys and go home and hide.

He is so frustrated to be in a position that he can't bully or buy his way out of to cover up his ignorance that he may be suffering from shock. The Stable Genius has exposed himself on film, and in his own words and he can't walk it back.

There is a danger in this situation. There is no telling what Trump will do now to try to distract attention from the virus. It will have to be bigger than the virus to stand a chance.

He has the emotional depth of a teaspoon, and he can’t abide SHAME.

That’s what he is feeling, and it’s intolerable to him.

9. The briefings were his substitute for rallies; he needs attention at all times.

He's like Tinker Bell: if the children don't clap he fades away and dies. Unfortunately for him, he was making a right ass of himself - and even if he never figured that out on his own (and he probably didn't), someone managed to convince him that the briefings weren't bringing him the adoration he craves. I have no doubt that the rallies will start up again soon.
