"SNIP....

Dr. Deborah Birx, who heads up the White House coronavirus task force, said that Americans should expect social distancing guidelines to continue for months, the New York Times reports.

Said Birx: “Social distancing will be with us through the summer.”

“Throughout the interview with Chuck Todd, Dr. Birx seemed to be taking pains to avoid directly contradicting or undermining the White House’s messages about the pandemic.”

If people are smart about it.

Until the time comes that this virus is no longer the threat to public health that it is currently, we ( and by "we" I mean the non cult members of this society) need to continue to be vigilant, wear masks and not take any chances.

The fact that someone can be completely asymptomatic, never have one whiff of any sickness at all yet still have the virus and spread it to others concerns me the most, and there are still a shit - ton of people not taking any precautions at all, as if they are immune.

OK...maybe a few people! But yes, we need to stay healthy, at the very least.

It is clear that the mortality rate, once infection has occurred is relatively low. It is dramatic, to be sure, and anybody that dies needlessly from this is a tragedy. I think one of the best analogies is the "100 Skittles in a bag" idea, where I hold out a bag of 100 pieces of candy and tell you to help yourself, except know that 3 of the 100 are poisoned and will kill you.

NO ONE in their right mind would take that chance. Yet we see it every day if you are out at all. I have to be out, and I am seeing plenty taking no precautions, as I said above.

I said it in another thread, but I suspect if they were to survey for this question, a significant percentage of deaths will occur among conservatives.
