When I think of all the good things in my life I know it comes from parents who helped me, being born into the middle class, being white, being born in US. But the republicans I know talk more about how much hard work got them where they were. They feel they owe nothing to anyone. Exactly as it says here.

Those of us on the left know we live in a Society, where everyone has responsibility to the community as a whole. Those on the right believe that instead we live in an economy where everything is a transaction and everyone better look out for themselves. They fail to grasp that an economy is only a tool created by society for orderly exchange of goods and services, and as such is secondary to the needs of the society. Or as my grandmother told me, Democrats care about people, and republicans care about money.
