when it's within six feet? It would not be reliable if signal strength is used as there would be too many variables.

What if the nearby person is not carrying a bluetooth device?

have to have one - doesn't seem very practical if that is the case.

However, I still don't get how it would work although I suppose it might if transmission signal strength is the same for all devices and, completely non-directional transmit and receive antennae are utilized.

to track and record a person's travel locations but would not be accurate enough to detect if two devices were within six feet of each other.
