its picking up recurrent reporting trends across the 50 states. Tuesday and Wednesday will be more revealing

...but there's a disclaimer on the CDC's website about any figures released over the weekend -- that they're to be regarded as preliminary until the official, revised count is released Monday at 4:00 P.M. Eastern Time.

We had the protesters, we have premature "openings", we see people flocking to beaches and other venues.

None of that bodes well all things considered. That is, the more you read about the virus, confirmed cases, deaths and number of tests, the worse it looks.

Let's just hope that the second wave, (which really shouldn't be until Fall even) does not bring the huge spike that some predict. I mean, many times the highest number we have seen so far.

...it seemed possible that we had reached the crest in ongoing cases, and that the number was starting to trend downward.

Since then, we've had several higher days in a row. I don't have all the official numbers to crunch yet, but I can't help thinking that the "FREEEEEEEEDUMB!!!" resistance, plus the moves in red states to ease restrictions, are starting to show a new rise. Not the "second wave," as far as I can tell, just an intensification of the first wave based on general idiocy among some.

Yes. We can only speculate.

I think we will see more data and results in a couple of weeks or so.

If this is a trend, it sucks royally.

RIP to all our people that have died. We will avenge you on November 3.

But with these states opening back up early they will continue to rise.
