The shrewdest thing I ever heard was from the Dalai Lama: love your enemy, because that knocks them off-center, disarms them, eliminates the focus of their efforts. The greatest victory is to turn them into allies.

Don’t demonize Republicans, work to disarm them. The next 6 months will be all out war until Trump is defeated, but then we will need to make sure it never happens again, and that will require this radicalized minority of the US to recover some of their mental faculties. One way of defeating them is making them hate less, by seeing what we all have in common and not the differences.

Stoking their hate will make them go vote, peacifying them means maybe they stay home on Election Day.

is that the average Trump cultist doesn't care that the nation is destroyed. Many of them wanted to destroy it or let it fall. Theology, ideology, greed are all motivations on the right. These people are aided by those on the extreme fringe of the left, who deserve their to be chastised as well since when pushed have no problem with joining forces with Trumpers to destroy democracy.
