I think Texas retail to go may help some businesses. But some specialty shops say it won’t help them because they get different items everyday that can’t be known from outside. Still better then nothing I suppose. I was thinking if I had a shop in Houston I’d put items outside but have a way to block customers from crowding but they’d be able to point to what they wanted and I’d grab it for them. I guess you do what you can.

They say they will continue to do carryout and delivery but will not open their dining rooms until late May at the earliest. One said it may cost them their business but it would not be right to open. Our mayor is under a lot of pressure because crazy Governor Stitt is opening things up and she won't do it.

Especially for the mom-and-pops. They’re desperate to earn an income and are stuck between doing what’s right for public health and putting food on their tables.

The larger corporations are getting bailouts out the butt, I say screw those guys.

traffic, adherence to protective guidelines, and no hands-on services, should be as safe as going to any of the officially "essential" businesses.

Our local WalMart's plant section has been open while local nurseries are closed. Would those be committing a moral crime by opening carefully?

I support the closures but I also understand that peoples businesses, dreams and futures are being destroyed in front of us. If I risked the absolute loss of everything I had spend my entire life building, I am not sure what I would do.

My bf in business for 10 HARD years. 2020 was starting to pay off but now even the savings will be gone - to rent for an empty business. His is a bar and will be last allowed to reopen. It is BAD!

Once a completely open business gets a report of an infected employee or customer, they're finished for the duration of this crisis, and probably permanently.

Customers will have the final say in all this. If a place you go to is reckless during this pandemic they probably are reckless in business. We are watching and remembering. It is not how fast businesses can open, it is when we feel safe to do anything.

Or are they now faced with a do or die decision?

a business reopens for business and then a customer gets sick (and perhaps die). What business in their right mind would open in such conditions, being that 1 lawsuit (wrongful death, or something similar) could bring down the entire business?

I think that if faced w/ such an issue, it won't be worth the risk.

Will we want to sit in a booth that has someones head a foot behind yours? In a bar with fixed stools close together? Customers will look around and if we don't see changes, see ya.

Just how blind are these people (republicans)? Are they not talking to anyone?

Wondering? Asking to borrow money?

Think about that. It is happening and a business owner will have a HARD decision to make.
