White House refuses to say who's actually getting small business loans

By Oliver Willis -April 27, 2020 12:27 PM

More than 200 businesses trading on the stock market received at least $750 million in rescue financing from the government.

The New York Times reported that hundreds of businesses trading on the public markets received billions in loans from the government as part of COVID-19 relief, despite the program being targeted to small business.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany was asked about the problem in an interview with Fox News on Monday.

From the April 27 edition of Fox News' "America's Newsroom":

We're concerned with getting money to people right now. I mean, look, we're not concerned with cobbling a list together to please the media.

Q: Wouldn't you already HAVE the list, if you're giving money away to people?

A: Well, yeah, but not the one we'd share with the taxpayers, silly! That one we'd have to spend time cobbling together, occupying time that's better spent on secretly giving money to our contributors and cronies as quickly possible, before we get caught!

It's not just that they have few people. No business clearing 6-7 figures a year should be getting any help, especially if they have less than 100 employees.
