of course it can and will be stopped if everyone is on the same page. These people are seriously deranged and dangerous.

There are way too many cases to make it go away entirely. The purpose of the shutdowns was to flatten the curve, give the health system time to prepare, and avoid having a shortage of ventilators and PPE. Most of those goals have been met, with the exception of PPE. We can't stay shut down until a vaccine comes along in 12-18 months. It's just not sustainable. As it is the food supply is starting to see disruptions, and how many people will die because they've put off other healthcare they need or lost their insurance due to the shutdowns?

of course it can be stopped - we just couldn't be bothered to do what was necessary. Don't believe the myth that it had to be this way.

I don't disagree there was a time we could have stopped it, but that ship sailed a while ago. Now it's about mitigation to avoid overwhelming the healthcare system.
