The cult made the worst vote in the history of this nation and they can't admit it.

They will argue to their dying day that compared to Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump was the best choice. Of course, they are in denial. Because they cannot accept responsibility for the mess that we are now in.

They screwed up, big time! They did it with their eyes wide open and they still have closed their minds to the lies and the crimes committed by Donald J Trump. They will never admit it.

But the proof is there for all to see. He is not the "greatest" of anything, except bullshitting. To believe that he is anything else, is delusional to the point of illness.

They will remain in denial. They actually believe the lying incompetent narcissist is the greatest president of all time.

They deserve no slack. They are to blame, and to say that it is divisive or too partisan to talk about, is itself a denial of reality. They knew he was a lying, cheating, criminal who had assaulted several women before they voted for him. They knew. They voted for him anyway.

There is a need to put the blame where it belongs. To do otherwise is to deny the truth.

But placing blame accomplishes little or nothing. It hardly matters who is to blame for our current predicament. I just want a leader who can do SOMETHING to get us out of it ... i.e. Joe Biden, and I would like to give him a Democratic senate to improve his capacity to actually do something constructive, for a change.

...and divisive?

I have debated with myself about whether it would serve any positive purpose to be so straight-forward and honest about them voting for someone to "shake up Washington"?

It has become obvious over time that silence only encourages them in their cult-like obeisance to their leader. They further divide our nation and attack those that disagree with them even more ferociously.

I think they need to know that we know. They are deceiving no one except themselves.

when I see someone wearing a MAGAt hat, I'll say something to make it sting.

I was at a car repair shop one day, and there was a couple waiting.
She was wearing a MAGA hat, sitting in a wheel chair.

When my car was complete and I was ready to leave, I stopped to talk to them.
We had the following conversation:
Me: "I see you support our current president"
Her: "Yes, I believe he's the best president we've ever had"
Me: "So you don't mind that he's trying to get pre-existing conditions implemented in our health insurance again?"

This was like a day or 2, after there was a story about Pendejo45 getting pre-existing conditions overturned.
https://www.businessinsider.com/what-counts-pre-existing-condition-ahca-trump-obamacare-2017-5

The look on their faces was pure priceless.

Tue Apr 28, 2020, 01:54 PM
Apr 2020

They are conservatives. They don't like things shaking around without control. If anyone, it was the most ardent left that saw that a Trump win, which they and everyone else did not think was going to happen, but if it did, it would indeed "shake things up", and, they thought, accelerate a rejection of right wing politics. Well, we've had our shake up, and Trump still has over 40% approval. And something like 80% in his party. So perhaps the shake it up theory worked in the past, but today, with RW conspiracy theory media serving the President, who have no qualms about misinformation, and the GOP is eager to lie about anything, its near impossible to get the message through. So giving more power to the right only allows them to further indoctrinate their cult members, and either prevent investigations, or make them meaningless though their own media.

So I think in a lot of ways the "disruption" screwed the left. Folks in the Democratic party were abhorred by Trump and those that saw a dire need to get rid of him instead were convinced to go with the most moderate, less hope and changey, candidate with the assumption that that would make him more electable. It makes me wonder if Obama and Hillary were the last two nominees left this time round, against a second term Trump, if delegates would have rushed to Hillary, having the name and experience, and not gone out on a limb for the younger, and seemingly more progressive, riskier, at least in his primary run, candidate, who was talking about M4A, in different words, back then too.

No, what most Republicans wanted, or rather were convinced they wanted and were assured it was possible, was actually the opposiite. It was to put America back together again, make it more stable, less shaky. In their minds. To take it back to some fantasy time when there were no gays, women knew their place - in the home, Christianity was the only religion, and 99% of shows and movies were made up of white casts, set in white suburban communities etc etc. "Simpler times" ie....simpler for them to comprehend and be comfortable with. And they're angry that we don't want the same things.

be listened to or go anywhere. Anything that anyone of the democratic persuasion (or independents too) says won't be listened to. It's our way or the highway w/ these repugs.

No, I suspect that the only thing they'll listen to is the ever increasing death rates in states such as Iowa and Indiana, etc., where the CV death rates are marching upwards, in part to perhaps the 'peak' being reached or just plain stupidity in some areas, in not restricting people movement, etc.

The news becomes even more grimmer, as limited manpower resources in these states (they're not exactly states where people are racing to live in by any means) means that they'll have lots of trouble recovering, especially when immigration (legal and illegal) has been slammed shut by rump (who in the hell would want to live here anyway w/ the US number 1 in the world on CV!! Another trump win!!). This means that despite all of the money they can throw at the problems these states are facing, all of the money in the world won't entice people to live in these states.

Idiot. This idiot should be charged w/ cruel indifference to life at a minimum.

that it goes in one ear, and out the other. Whether people listen or not is the issue. Death counts do seem to make an impact eventually. Look at states that are still pushing to open up, and act like normal. We are way beyond 'normal' times here.

They seem to think that everyone will obey the 6' rule. Will cover their mouths and noses when they sneeze, etc. They won't, they are too many idiots out there.

I lived through COVID- of course no test. Not even going to the ER barely breathing qualified and the experience left me in tears. I lived through every symptom alone trying to figure out what was the correct course of action. I called my doctor everyday for almost a week -rest and Tylenol. I contacted my health department, the state health department -useless. The loss of taste clenched it for me.
You see I was early (beginning of March) on the curve. I tried to tell everyone what I was experiencing. My temperature was very low, which I now know means my body was trying to shut down. The loss of taste advisory came three weeks after my onset of symptoms. I had every symptom that the CDC just added to the list LAST week.
If the scientists had not been removed from China we would have had this information.
I have a first hand account and believe me they will here it in graphic detail. Saying this has left me bitter is putting it mildly.
They do NOT deserve sympathy. They should NOT be given the benefit of the doubt. Over 56,000 dead that we know about. The blood is on their hands.

I really appreciate your post. I know the virus effected my heart and my breathing capacity has been diminished. Temporary? I had to find articles from other countries. Yesterday I heard a report that cardiologists are finding the virus may effect the heart. It is a miracle that I have not thrown my remote control through my TV. There's no telling when I will be able to see a doctor.

And I'm a bankruptcy attorney. I get to see the economic devastation from having to shut everything down, which if we were prepared possibly could have been avoided on such a large scale.

Because of the gross maleficence and incompetence I try and flip people's thinking of how they can survive when they get this.

I have already had a mild mental breakdown, but I know my future clients need me.

There is much more to the story and I'm not sure what to do with it. I know I'm not alone.
