Trump only has one thing left to run on for the election.

Blame everybody for his historic failures. That will not work. He will blame China, Obama, Democrats, W.H.O. , Governors, states, you name it, for his catastrophic failures.

He knows he is in big trouble because we have watched him for two months search for a miracle to get him out of the mess he has created. Not going to happen.

This is the best I have felt about the election. Trump is going to have a very hard time winning this election because his unbelievable luck, no miracle, is going to save him. Sometimes when you break something, it can never be fixed.

He could also play war. When he says things, sometimes you have to take them as possible indications of what's going on in his plans.

I think it would be a foolish move, but hey, it worked for Dubya, so he thinks. The advantages for him, (he thinks) are distraction and being a "wartime" President and command and la la la la. It would also add to the current confusion he has created all along and that leads to more fear and that works well for dictators, Right Wing Fascism, etc.

I would mention that he has our military in just as much of a jumble as the rest of the shit show that his reality TV titular show host game creates. Being the CIC gives him that ability and he can start something if he wants to.

We have a tremendous buildup of military forces, (in the midst of a crisis here?) in the waters north of Valenzuela right now. We’re deploying additional Navy destroyers, combat ships, aircraft and helicopters; Coast Guard cutters; and Air Force surveillance aircraft, doubling our capabilities in the region.

Sounds rather warish, methinks. We don't have the right resources here for our internal crisis, but we can mobilize all that military power and troops there?

The guise is that it is about drug trafficking, which is specious to me. We have never used that kind of heavy combat power to combat drug trafficking before.

General statements about re-opening are not going to cut it.

It's well within the realm of possibility that we see decent treatment options coming out between now and October that really give people confidence in reintegrating, but short of that (vaccine is really not going to happen before the election, Oxford notwithstanding), there's no plan.

People want a plan that's more concrete than "We need liberty!" or "Some people will have to be sacrificed!" or "1000-2000 deaths a week from this thing are OK, so long as the hospitals don't get flooded." None of that's going to work, and if the meat plants really can't move forward, then we're in the fucking weeds for real.

What's the plan?

What's the plan?

What's the plan?

What the virus has really put into stark relief is that MAGA or KAG were never plans. They were slogans, at best, with nothing of substance backing them.

Yes he has skated his whole life with his conning, lying, bullying, manipulation, cheating and likely crooking big time that he SO FAR, he hasn’t been caught and convicted for doing. Right now he’s an unindicted co-conspirator for what Michael Cohen got sent to prison for, so maybe when Joe wins, the law will come looking for him.

So I’m also hopeful he’s gonna get tossed out on his ass and it does look better than it has, but we all know there a lot of stupid, selfish and crazy voters out there ( just like the Orange nut job child).

We dismantled the federal systems designed to preserve the health of Americans. We borrowed or printed trillions to give to the ultra-rich. We have opened the last great places to extraction industries. We let deluded evangelical nutcases take over the courts.

How's it working for us?

Laughing stock of the world.

Dictators rising everywhere.

Species tinkering with carbon-caused extinction.

50,000 dead from a virus that WE KNEW how to mitigate...but CHOSE not to.

Can we just declare the experiment a failure and try proven strategies of working for the common good?

My guess is that enough of those walking amongst us have an under-developed cerebral cortex, and they can not overcome the "me-first and only" instincts of their reptillian brains!

Have failed to bluff their way through the pandemic, I am afraid that the only thing that they will have left to retain power is the use of force. Never before have I thought such a thing was even remotely possible in the US. Today, things look differently.

The Right can not afford to let the balance of power shift and they won't go without a fight. We need to be thinking about whether we will meet them head on or succumb. Time may be short.
