from the social media aspect, which, in fact is the primary way propaganda and smear is spread in the modern age. It has to be stood up to, not ignored.

There's no evidence what Tara Reade said happened actually happened. Thanks for that reminder. It's a key detail!

Evidence is the last thing needed for a believable charge, and the charge made in the header post is certainly a believable one.

The operative strategy in matters of this sort is quite clear, tested and effective.

When any lying charge is laid against your candidate, assail, attack, and smear the person peddling the lie, and all who repeat it. Allow yourself not the least hint of concession there could be any possibility the lie is true, and keep up the assault, being as vicious and unfair as is not just humanly, but demonically possible. Do not bother with mere denial of the charge, attack the person peddling the lie, and anyone biased and craven and sensation-seeking enough to pass the lie on, and keep on doing so no matter what.

...I say: CONSIDER THE ALTERNATIVE!

Thom Hartmann had a caller the other day who said he would not vote for Biden because, "I absolutely will not vote for a rapist or a racist!"

If significant numbers of likely Democratic voters start thinking like that, then we're doomed to four more years of that orange raccoon thing in the White House. Which is a prospect too horrible to contemplate. Those likely Democratic voters will be cutting their own throats, because their stated concerns will be addressed just as poorly for the next four years as they have been for the past four years.

To anybody who has this problem with Biden, I say, think about the alternative, then hold your nose and vote for Biden anyway. Please. Come to your senses.

These claims (whatever they have turned into today) are basically saying the Biden did something once that Trump has been accused of doing many times. So anybody wanting to avoid Biden for this reason has only a worse alternative in Trump.

It perhaps made more sense for Bernie's dirty campaign bros to do so, because Bernie was an alternative to run against Trump, where there would be a differentiation. Still, it didn't work out because the story has no legs.

12. A couple of reasons
Tue Apr 28, 2020, 04:08 PM
Apr 2020

One, they know there are some who can be swayed to have second thoughts about Biden by reading allegations of sexual assault. Given that Biden is ahead of Trump with women, this is an attempt at attacking an opponent's strengths.

Second, they know the purity left, upset about Biden's nomination, will eagerly spread it on social media.

That is likely their rationale.

be the nominee. I saw a post like that yesterday...they linked to some petition. The GOP managed to eke out a victory last time doing this. This is aimed squarely at Democratic voters. It won't work though. We know Biden. It is hard to smear him with rightie lies.

if there is a direct money trail (like going into somebody's bank account) I think it needs to be exposed. If you are referring to agitation, promotion and propaganda .. yes, we knew that already. A Swift Boating operation financed by specific people .. that's a different story. and one that needs to be told.

We won't let that happen. Learned the hard way in 2016 to resist the temptation.

When TrumpFail dominates the headlines, I say, 'please procede.'

There is absolutely no fucking upside to responding to WhataboutReade. Instead we give the TrumpFail a break from the harsh headlines. No way, no can do. As far as I'm concerned, let the heat of the spot light forever shine on his shameless cowardice and greed.

The only headline that we should focus on like a laser is "PINESOL POTUS."

I have no fucks left for whataboutism "concern."

That way, folks could post their "But his emails" stories there, and participate in the literary equivalent of mutual masturbation to their hearts content.

Those that want to laser focus on kicking Retrumplican ass this November, and until the last vestiges of this fucked up, amoral, existential threat to our country is buried 3 miles under dogshit at the asheep of history can continue... unobstructed.

... as they would with Repubs and their candidates.

Dems are a lot less forgiving than Repubs.

39% of GOP voters said they’d vote for a Republican who wore blackface, compared with 15% of Democrats who said the same of a Democratic politician.

31% of GOP voters said they’d back one of their own accused of sexual misconduct vs. 10% of Democrats.

Al Franken's a good example.
