I missed this. I thought it was on later today. Hope to catch it on a podcast or something later.
I think Joe just meant it as a "generous sentiment" as one of the responses suggests.
Bots and nasty responses to a lot of these Townhall tweets.

Biden just told Hillary Clinton that he would much rather be supporting her re-election bid and I almost completely lost it. Even Biden knows that none of us want to be here with him as President. Hes simply holding the front line and preparing to pass the torch. #StillWithHer

(66,316 posts)It occurred to me months ago that anyone still publicly supporting Sanders and gaslighting Biden has to be a secret Trump supporter. There's no other explanation.

Now bring in Michele & President Barack Obama...😁
Help is on the way, America. Pay attention.

(41,959 posts)How many things do they (hate to say it but both extremes) have to rail against so they can stick together and feel superior? Lock her up. Second Amendment. Colin Kaepernick. Socialism. The Swamp. Sleepy Joe. Creepy Joe. Lame stream Media. Snowflakes. Libtards.
We throw them out too but we also support them in ways they refuse to recognize. And we dont rely on mass hysteriathats one reason we argue among ourselves so much.

(10,009 posts)A Hillary Clinton Administration would have been full of qualified professionals and experts in their fields...much like Biden's upcoming administration when Biden beats Trump.

(89,246 posts)it's about the fact that if Hillary was President right now instead of trump we would not be in this shit.

(9,988 posts)As someone who voted for Bernie in both primaries (would have voted for Harris, Castro, or Warren had they not been pretty much ruled out in my state this year) but very much DID work and vote for Hillary in 2016 and WILL vote for Biden in November (if we have an election!), it's not about the personalities. It's about harm reduction. It's about working for the candidate who will cause the fewest number of preventable deaths.
If Hillary Clinton was the President now, I think she would have taken the virus threat seriously as soon as the issue was raised to her (possibly as early as November). Even when she was First Lady in the 90s, health care was her big issue. She'd have been on top of the latest reports from day one. She would certainly have been hampered by McConnell, but she'd have done her best to mitigate the worst of the BS, and use her executive powers to get much-needed supplies where they needed to be. Thousands of people are dead now, who might have had a chance if she was President.

(2,227 posts)I yearn for those lost opportunities. A heart felt sadness for what might have been, and a woman done wrong. A regret of what was taken from her, and us. All wrapped up in a DEEP fear of what has been done to this country, through the decades of manufactured hatred of this single woman. The piece of excrement defiling OUR White House.
We could not have asked for a better, more prepared President. In a democracy that is SUPPOSED to be representative of this country, she IS President.
I just want to cry.
At a minimum, she should be the first Supreme Court Justice pick. JUST FOR REVENGE. It would be for a relatively short time, but I want to see heads EXPLODE.

Amy Siskind: "We went from top of the list with Hillary to bottom of the barrel with Trump."
A dreadful understatement. Hillary's administration would have stopped this disease at its outbreak points. SARS1 was more deadly than this one and spreading around the planet, but we were on alert and in the end had 8 cases in the U.S. and no deaths.

(54,341 posts)The past is gone, but Biden is right. In a just world, we would now all be working for Hillary's (easy) re-election.
It was nothing more than an acknowledgement of something tens of millions of Democrats feel very strongly. It is not a put-down of Joe Biden in the slightest, and to read that into it is a declaration of either an extremist right wing stance or a personality filled with hate and anger.
