Trump says he favors payroll tax cuts not 'big distribution' of checks in next stimulus

Americans across the country are still grappling with job loss, furloughs and economic uncertainty. To combat these financial woes, President Donald Trump said Tuesday he sees tax cuts to companies as the economic answer not additional checks to individuals in forthcoming stimulus packages.

He would “love to see” payroll tax cuts versus a “big distribution,” referring to the massive stimulus checks that have been doled out to citizens the last couple of weeks.

“It would really be an incentive for people to come back to work and for employers to hire,” Trump said. “That’s what I like...”

This must be made clear, and the attempt resisted at all costs by our majority in the House.

COVID-19 has interrupted consumer behaviors.

Probably a rhetorical question, but how does cutting payroll tax create jobs when people are consuming less. The restaurant up the street can hire 500 people, but I will not sit down for a meal there until I'm comfortable that I can do it safely.

But, give me enough economic support that I can think beyond survival and I'll order carry out. And I'll further participate in the economy as you enact a coherent public health policy.

Every response by this admin has been wrong.

8. Trumps slippery Tax Cuts allowed him to boast the US economy was the best it's ever been.

But COVID-19 proved to him his economy was merely built on shifting sands and didn't last even a month under pressure.

Trumps entire adult life has been based on lying, cheating, and blowing other's money.

He is salivating at the chance to destroy us and our country and will not stop the fuckery until our democracy is lying dead in the streets.

That's why he's not so enthusiastic about this bill because it does not hold any benefits for him.

Yesterday he went on about how unfair it is to have the employee and employer have to both pay.

Don't let him coopt the language - whenever he says 'payroll tax cuts' we need to specify and clarify what he really means.
