General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsCuomo was live doing his daily presser and has taken Mitch to the proverbial woodshed.
He quoted both Mitch McConnell and Rick Scott of Florida in their hateful rhetoric over "bailing out blue states." Then he had a graphic with their faces showing how much more each their states receives in federal dollars compared to how much they pay in compared to the net amount paid in by New York and New Jersey.
He absolutely LAMBASTED McConnell's politicization of this crisis while people are dying and essential workers are risking their lives every day. He said Mitch's priority was his corporate donors while the Democrats' priorities were people including healthcare workers, first responders, essential workers and everyday people struggling to get by.
He talked about the efforts and generosity of everyday Americans and unveiled a huge mural of the donations of masks that have been made by people across the country. He called it a portrait of love and contrasted it with the vile political maneuvering by people like Mitch.
Very powerful. Cuomo is a leader.

(16,254 posts)I hope there is a video of the entire presser. He has the perfect timing when trying to get a point across and certainly isn't wimpy about voicing his opinion.
I could see him in the WH one of these days.

(3,928 posts)facts, hope, humanity and Responsible Governance. At 69, my heart hurts to see what has happened to my country. Our citizens need Cuomo's example of thoughtful, intelligent and loving guidance.

(5,733 posts)I said, "This is a master class. I can't believe how, every day, this man can give such talks. No one since FDR has spoken to the public like this. Kennedy was great, but he did not face a situation like this." My husband responded, "It is easy when you are passionate about what you believe."

(156 posts)I try to catch Cuomo every day because I learn more from him than from anybody. Reminds me of Adam Schiff during the impeachment....his conclusions each day were also a master class of how to get across to people what you firmly believe in. One could not show that much empathy and emotion unless they truly felt it. Trump could never be so caring and eloquent because he just does not have it in him.......never did, never will.

(5,928 posts)I'm generally not free to watch these pressers when they're broadcast, and so it's very helpful when others like you are able to summarize them on DU to keep the rest of us abreast of developments.

Some one try to convince me that there are any good Republicans! If there were good Repubs, people like Mitch wouldn't last a day as Senate Leader.

I never miss his daily briefing. It's an informative and uplifting blueprint for the country.

(15,241 posts)That's what they want the US to believe - that there is a "we" and a "them". They are really working on the divisiveness. Typical.

(11,563 posts)To say that T bears some animosity is like calling this pandemic a bad flu season. But, in a very close approximation of T's exact words: "I still hate Cuomo, but I have to admit he's doing a great job with this."

(22,250 posts)for Joe and any other Democratic candidate. He will tear any of the opposition a new one. I especially want him to stump for Amy McGrath in KY
He needs to team up with Andy Bashear and go on the road as the "Andy and Andrew Show" Cuomo can be the attack dog and Beshear can be the calm and cool one.
I hope both of them get to have a big spot on the program at the National Convention .
