Singapore study predicts end of pandemic by December

A breakthrough study by a team of data scientists from Singapore has predicted that the COVID-19 global pandemic will end its life cycle by this December.

The virus has infected close to 3 million people worldwide, resulting in more than 200,000 deaths.

There is tremendous anxiety about the future of the pandemic, especially as most countries are under lockdowns that have brought the global economy to a halt.

The high levels of uncertainty about the pandemic motivated Singapore-based Prof. Jianxi Luo and his team to answer the question: When will the COVID-19 end?

“The predictions were purely driven by personal curiosity regarding when COVID-19 will end in Singapore, where we live, and other countries,” Luo, who is the director of the Data-Driven Innovation Lab and the head of the research paper, said.

“Estimating the end dates have been subconscious for most people as it is mentally needed and an essential part of planning during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also naturally difficult to be done well due to the uncertainty of the future.”

The way it is going here, we will be sure to keep it rampaging, spiking and surging here and then send it back to you folks over there and we call it, Rinse and Repeat.

We are all about the economy, don't ya' know. Sorry. Maybe give it a couple of years.

... we're going to no where keep those SIP measures world wide.

Hell, there aren't even triggers in the US like there are in Germany where their relative Ro went from .7 to 1 after they let up on their SIP measures.

I am not being pessimistic, but in total, for a country this wealthy with so many resources and high technology, this situation looks like a totally botched mess with nothing in sight to correct the course.

That does not bode well for Summer, Fall, etc. and I am taking some prognostications about that as wishful thinking and even manipulative prognostications for ulterior motives.

December is fair enough. At least that means it will eventually end. I have been wondering IF it will ever end. I keep picturing zombies and a barren wasteland the world over. If only this awful crap will end....

He added that behavioral factors, such as individuals avoiding physical contact and government lockdowns in high-risk cities, as well as the natural limitation of the ecosystem played a part in understanding the pandemic life cycle.

That makes this study like the IHME's where they assume a high level of SIP measures ... we're not going to continue those sip levels

It would be so awesome if this is true, but we can't count on it - not one bit at this time. If other studies confirm this, and it actually happens - I will be ecstatic.

Oh, wait. It didn't work that way.

Same deal with the pandemic.

It is a world wide pandemic, and hasn't really taken hold in some places.

If, and that's a huge if, a vaccine that is at least 90% effective is discovered soon, there will still be the logistical nightmare of manufacturing a billion or more doses and getting them out to people. That could take years.
