(129,729 posts)or be ridden out of the WH on a rail? It happened four days ago. These things are cumulative and, if they are to bring him down, it will be because he is defeated in November. The morons who are drinking bleach and Lysol might not survive to vote for him; they are probably some of the same morons who are running around in packs, without masks, protesting against the shutdowns.

(24,788 posts)To imagine any one of those cuts will bring him down is wishful thinking, along the lines of believing a miracle cure will suddenly appear for COVID.

(30,613 posts)We can't bring him down until November. Survival demands we bring down as many of his Russiapublican cronies as possible at the same time.

(12,712 posts)People took the brown acid, too, despite being warned, but at least Nixon didn't tell them, too.
"Let me make this perfectly clear, the brown acid is a great trip. Take it. What have you got to lose...not a crook."

(3,428 posts)I figured it was 25%, max, based on polls that showed that the right-wing wackos were 25% of the population. But Trumpasss popularity rarely dips below 40%

(89 posts)December 21, 1954 --- the SEEKERS, members of a small Chicago-area group were communicating with aliensincluding one, Sananda, who was believed to be an astral incarnation of Jesus Christ. Also known as Dorothy Martin she transcribed the interstellar messages through automatic writing.
The aliens gave a precise date of an Earth-ending cataclysm. Some followers quit their jobs sold their property, left college, and spouses, gave away any money and possessions (even removed brassieres and pant zippers deemed space travel unfriendly) expecting to be rescued by a flying saucer and sent to Planet Clarion. All this before the continent split asunder and the sea swallowed much of the United States.
First, the aliens no-showed and the-big-day came and went without incident. They struggled for an explanation...but the extraterrestrials forwarded a new pronouncement. Theyd all been spared because the group, sitting all night long, had spread so much light
. Like-a-miracle
.God had saved the world.
The devastation of all they had believed made them even more certain of their beliefs. In the annals of denial, before the age of Limpberger / Fox / Hannity on and on and finally trump, the Seekers were extreme
but theres plenty to go around. We are are puzzled by groups and people so polarized over matters where the evidence is so unequivocal: Cor19 hoax, disinfectants, Rusian interference, Trumps wealth, climate change, drug trials, vaccines, death panels, Obama's birthplace It would seem that expecting people to be convinced by the facts flies in the face of, you know, the facts.

Nothing. He could appear naked on national TV. He could kill a puppy. The shitshow will continue until we vote in numbers too big to manipulate.

(56,848 posts)Trump has done AT LEAST one thing that would have led to a spectacular downfall of him as a candidate or as a "president" but he still keeps on going.
(he announced his bid for president in June of 2015 by saying that Mexicans were sending rapists, drugs and criminals to America - that should have ended him right there...)

(2,704 posts)Really? Which Democratic Representatives and Senators did you expect to stand on the White House steps and demand he step down? How many people demanded he resign? What newspapers called for his resignation?
Dude was rambling. He wasn't actually suggesting people drink lysol. If he was, he would have repeated it over and over. It would be best to leave.this.alone. The media has completely overplayed its hand on this one when it could have been focusing its energy on the Senate report from last week that should derail any shenanigans Trump, Barr & Co. have up their sleeves.

(38,059 posts)...so a "vote of no confidence" just doesn't exist here.
The only thing that would get him out before Election Day is Mitch and his senate Republicans telling Pelosi to send over impeachment articles again so they can convict this time, and that's not going to happen.

(10,777 posts)Trump is a nothing.
The only teflon thing about him is his flakiness.
He is being held up as a figurehead by oligarchs, bigots, and religious fanatics.
It isn't "Trump" we need to take down.
It's them.
